An Update on Genetic MND (ALS) Research At the University of Oxford

The MND (ALS) research team at Oxford University has for a long time an interest in better understanding MND through the families with a genetic connection to the disease. This has led to a great expansion in research into such families including data analysis and new longitudinal studies. Hear from two researchers at Oxford , Dr Alexander Thompson who will provide an overview of the genetic MND work at their institution including the ACORN study, and Dr Jiali Gao who will describe her recently published work on how people with the C9 expansion in the UK biobank (a 500,000 person population sample with genetic and medical data) faired over nearly 20 years since the study began.  Q&A will be possible at the end.  The session will be recorded and posted for viewing after translated subtitles are added.
